Clarke has presented the idea of 'thinking through' the situation in a simple manner. The key point is to focus attention on the cause of the un-desirable situation. This cause could be un-desirable situation for some one else. One might be in a position to help resolve this 'someone else's undesirable situation', which in turn help resolving your own un-desirable situation.
Definitely a good read. But more importantly, it could help trigger thoughts to find similar solutions in our own setting!
